After 26 years in Cornwall Jakki returned to live in her birthplace, Lancashire, and the change of location promoted a change in career.

Jakki says, “I worked for seven years as a driving instructor and had a successful business, but I was eager for a new, exciting challenge. I heard about the Travel Academy and thought what could be better than starting a new business in an industry which I could see myself enjoying being a part of.

Training

“When I joined the Travel Academy I was used to being self-employed, but I had never worked with computers before and I had never even sent an email! There was absolutely no need for me to worry as the Travel Academy training modules were easy to follow and designed to be as simple as possible – even for a techno-phobe like me! I always look forward to visiting head office; the two week course I completed when I first started was really enjoyable and I learnt so much.

Even after leaving head office I have not once felt alone. I have spoken to my mentor late in the evenings and she always has a smile on her face and fantastic advice. The helpdesk at head office are also available to talk you through any queries and the I.T support is amazing.
